Abstract
Section titled “Abstract”High-aspect-ratio ridge waveguides (propagation losses: 0.13±0.05 dB/cm) were fabricated in Yb 3+ :CaF2 by diamond-saw-dicing. The waveguide laser generated 723 mW at 1029-1051 nm with a slope efficiency of 76.0%; wavelength tuning between 1009-1072 nm was achieved.
