Abstract
Section titled âAbstractâIt has been suggested that surface acoustic waves can couple remote quantum bits (qubits). Bulk diamond and chemical vapor deposition diamond films host the negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy color center (NVâ1) which carry an electronic spin-1. The latter is among the most promising qubits for implementing scalable quantum information processing. The characteristic features of the Rayleigh surface acoustic wave which can propagate near the free surface of a diamond thin film are investigated. The texture of the film is taken into account. A phenomenological theory of the spin-phonon interaction is applied to describe the coupling between the Rayleigh surface acoustic wave and the NVâ1 spin-qubits.
